  • Work is performed under supervision of the IT Manager with latitude for some independent judgment
  • Sets up servers workstations and network services hardware and software
  • Assigns property rights restricting access as necessary to protect the integrity of the network functions
  • Ensures all software is properly licensed before installation and is tracked to comply with licensing agreements
  • Assists in establishing Local Area Network LAN and Wide Area Network WAN technology to best serve the County s needs

  • Knowledge of and skill in using Windows 9x NT 2000 XP 2003 Vista and Solaris for networking computer systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL environments and related terminology
  • Knowledge of UNIX environments and related terminology
  • Knowledge and understanding of the client server environment
  • Knowledge of DNS DHCP and WINS
  • Knowledge of file print and terminal services
  • Knowledge of Enterprise e-mail and messaging systems
